Sam This is Emperor worship with a touch of Dimmu Borgir and killer musicianship of its own making. Other than the copious amounts of influence from 90s Norway, this is not an album typical of Québécois black metal. You won't find piercing, swirling snowstorms in the atmosphere of this album. You will find crushing riffs, oozy, mysterious synths, tight drumming and FUCKING majestic basslines. 2020 badly needed this. Now excuse me while I listen to it all over again. Favorite track: The Long Blackened Seasons.
